Parkland Infants and Junior Schools

“Thank you so much for your hard work on our lovely new planters, especially during some inclement weather with the extra challenge of two naughty llamas. I promise they won’t eat the new plants. “
What did students ask for?
120 students (60 year 1 infants, and 60 year 5 juniors) proposed a lively mix of ideas which combined natural elements (plants and animals-including cows and mice) with playful features (such as waterspouts).
What did staff ask for?
• Keen to receive new SuDS planters to replace old and rotting planters.
• Wanted aesthetic appeal to be considered to ensure alignment with the school’s overall style.
• Requested for the school’s animal themed identity to be incorporated, as well as broader themes around sustainability.
What was delivered?
• 27 SuDS planters (14 in infants, 13 in juniors)
• 10,775 litres of water storage across both schools
Additional features included three playful downpipe extenders (duck and cat designs), 11 meters of fencing with three gates for the infants’ area, two open downpipe troughs, four logo art installations (one infants, three juniors), one stencil for juniors, and three junior bench seats.
