Unpave the Way in the North West is addressing the impacts of householders paving over their front gardens to accommodate cars and other needs. This increases the risk of surface water flooding – and can make front gardens very boring!
They are informing and inspiring householders to install permeable (soak-through-able) driveways, collect and store rainwater for reuse, and use climate resilient planting schemes into their front gardens.
Climate Resilient Growing
Supported by the Blue Heart Community Fund, the Climate Resilient Garden at Rooted Community Food has been a brilliant project with volunteers researching and testing different growing techniques – and mtaking copious notes!
