Live Water Data
Explore live data from our water level sensors
Knowing how water moves around our project area will help us understand flood risk and mitigate its impact. We have now installed a network of water levels sensors and rain gauges, which share live data to a central computer system.
We’re still developing a proper dashboard to share and explain the data we’re collecting. However, we’re keen to make the data publicly accessible as soon as we can, so you can see what’s happening in your local area.
The locations of sensors and rain gauges are gradually being added to the GoogleMap below. Each sensor or gauge has it’s own ‘pin’ with a link to the data it is recording.
How will we use the real-time data?
Blue Heart and our project partners can use the data to:
- monitor water levels
- inform local water level management decisions
- investigate local flooding issues
- develop greater understanding of local water systems and how they impact each other
Our aim is to develop a system that uses live data, computer modelling and weather forecasts to predict where flooding might occur, and alert residents in those areas to be prepared.
If you would like to get involved and help us test the alert system, please leave us a little information about you via this form and we’ll be in touch.
