We’re thrilled to announce that the LEGO Flood House was featured on BBC One’s The One Show! This innovative LEGO set demonstrates how flood-resilient design can protect homes and communities from the increasing risks of flooding.
With 1 in 4 UK homes at risk of flooding, this project combines education and creativity to inspire adaptation and resilience in the face of climate change.
The feature aired on 9th December at 7 PM on BBC One, showcasing how this project is raising awareness and empowering individuals to take action.
What is the LEGO Flood House?
The LEGO Flood House is more than just a LEGO set—it’s a tool for education, awareness, and action. It features two terrace houses:
- One vulnerable to flooding, highlighting the potential damage and disruption caused by floodwaters.
- One flood-resilient, equipped with Property Flood Resilience (PFR) measures and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
Key features include:
- Flood doors, deployable barriers, and sump and pump systems.
- Sustainable elements like rain gardens, water butts, and permeable paving.
The LEGO Flood House shows how small changes can make a big difference in protecting homes and reducing recovery time after a flood.
