Add your ideas to the Flood Action Plan!

Our colleagues in ESCC have drafted a new Local Flood Risk Management Strategy, which is open for public consultation until midnight on October 18th.

Natalie Jamfield, Principal Flood Resilience Officer, explains:

“This strategy is different from the last; it focusses on the impact of flooding on communities and businesses, rather than just on the engineering side of things. We’ve also tried to make it a lot shorter!

The strategy will guide how the team works alongside others, including local communities and businesses to help manage and reduce the
impacts of flooding over the next 10 years. As part of the strategy, we’re also creating an Action Plan, a list of potential projects that could help
raise awareness and reduce the impact of flooding to communities across the county.

Share your ideas

Local communities know their area better than anyone, so we’re inviting people to share their ideas – big or small – that could build understanding about flooding or help manage it at a community level. Suitable projects will help shape our Action Plan.
